The Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with Utica Community Schools and Warren Consolidated Schools will be offering a summer playground program at schools.
Each site will provide supervised, scheduled activities on a daily basis. Activities will include arts & crafts, sports and games, field trips, special event days, and much more! Your playground site will be staffed by a minimum of three qualified staff members selected specifically to provide your child with a summer of FUN! All staff members have passed a criminal background check and are certified in CPR, first aid and concussion training. Each site will have a weekly activity schedule. Schedules will be available on our website at www.myshpr.net every Friday.

This program is for ages 6 to 13 years old and will run Monday through Thursday beginning June 27 and ending on August 4, 2022 from 9 am to noon and 12:30 pm to 4 pm. A staff member is present during the lunchtime from noon to 12:30 pm. The playground reopens at 12:30 pm. Please note that refrigeration is not available for lunches.

VERY IMPORTANT: THE PLAYGROUND STAFF WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHILD LEAVING A PLAYGROUND SITE. A CHILD'S ATTENDANCE WILL BE LEFT UP TO THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN. THIS IS AN ACTIVITY-BASED PROGRAM, NOT A CHILDCARE SETTING. CHILDREN SHOULD COME PREPARED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL ACTIVITES. IF SEVERE WEATHER OCCURS (THUNDERSTORMS OR TORNADO WARNINGS), THE CHILDREN WILL BE KEPT INDOORS.

PLEASE NOTE: A $25 LATE FEE WILL BE ASSESSED TO THE PARENT IF A CHILD IS PICKED UP AFTER 4PM. THIS FEE MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO THE CHILD RETURNING TO THE PROGRAM.

Fees are not prorated if joining after the program begins.
